02/12/13
"Be not afraid to tell Jesus that you love him."
St. Therese of Lisieux

02/11/13
O most blessed grace, which makest the poor in spirit rich in virtues and renderest him who is rich in many good things, humble of heart.
St. Therese, the Little Flower

02/10/13
Just as a mother is proud of her children so we shall be proud of one another without the least trace of jealousy.
St. Therese, the Little Flower

02/09/13
Drink of the Chalice of thy Lord lovingly, if thou desirest to be His friend, and to have part with Him.

The most privileged souls are those whom God keeps for Himself alone.

I will sing even when I must pick my flowers amid thorns. The longer and sharper the thorns are, the sweeter my song will sound.
St. Therese, The Little Flower

02/06/13
Take O Lord, from our hearts all jealousy, indignation, wrath, and contention, and whatsoever may hurt charity and lessen brotherly love.

"We can never have too much confidence in the good God... As we hope in Him so shall we receive."
St. Therese, The Little Flower

01/28/13
Jesus works miracles for His dearest friends only after He has tested their faith. He let Lazarus die, even though Martha and Mary sent word that he was sick. But after the trial, what rewards! Lazarus rises from the dead.
St. Therese of Lisieux

01/27/13
Very often God is satisfied with our wish to labour for his glory, and how immense are my desires to do so.

"My sufferings may reach their limit, but I am certain that He will never abandon me."
St. Therese, The Little Flower

01/21/13
Offer God the sacrifice of never gathering any fruit off your tree.
St. Therese

01/20/13
All I have written of my thirst for suffering is really true. I have no regret for having surrendered myself to love.
St. Theres

01/19/13
The Lord's will fills my heart to the brim, and if anything else is added it cannot penetrate to any depth, but like oil on the surface of water it glides easily across.
St. Therese

01/18/13
Jesus has shown me the only way that leads to the fire of divine love: it is that of a little child who, full of trust, falls asleep in its father's arms.
St. Therese, the Little Flower

01/17/13
"We must abandon the future into the hands of God."
St. Therese, The Little Flower

01/16/13
When I open the Gospels, I breathe the fragrance exalted by the life of Jesus, and I know which way to run.

More than ever, I understand that the smallest events of our life are conducted by God; He is the One who makes us desire and who grants our desires.
St. Therese

01/09/13
Seek true peace, not upon earth, but in heaven; not in men, nor in other things created, but in God alone.
St. Therese, the Little Flower

01/08/13
I take refuge, then, in prayer, and turn to Mary, and our Lord always triumphs.
St. Therese

01/07/13
It is that much harder to let what belongs to us be taken without asking for it back. But the moment we accept this, we feel how light [the burden] is.
St. Therese

01/06/13
Love is swift, sincere, pious, pleasant and delightful; strong, patient, faithful, prudent, long-suffering, courageous, and never seeking itself: for where a man seeks himself, there he falls from love.

St. Therese, the Little Flower

St. Therese

12/30/12
Our Lord does not come down from Heaven every day to lie in a golden ciborium. He comes to find another heaven which is infinitely dearer to Him -the heaven of our souls.
St. Therese

12/29/12
How sweet is the way of love!
St. Therese

12/28/12
This fire from heaven-- You have placed it in my soul and I, too, want to spread its passion.
St. Therese

Jesus, how tenderly and gently you lead my soul!
St. Therese

12/26/12
"Jesus, You are the the Star that leads me on."

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing,
dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
 Miraculous Invocation to St. Therese
O Glorious St. Therese, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and inspire the human family, I implore your Miraculous Intercession. You are so powerful in obtaining every need of body and spirit from the Heart of God. Holy Mother Church proclaims you "prodigy of Miracles.... the greatest saint of Modern Times." Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition (mention here) and carry out your promises of spending heaven doing good on earth.... of letting fall from Heaven a Shower of Roses. Little Flower, give me your childlike faith, to see the Face of God in the people and experiences of my life, and to love God with full confidence. St Therese, my Carmelite Sister, I will fufill your plea "to be made known everywhere" and I will contiue to lead others to Jesus through you.

Amen.

My Novena Rose Prayer
O Little Therese of the Child Jesus,
please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens
and send it to me as a message of love.

  O Little Flower of Jesus,
ask God to grant the favors I now place
with confidence in your hands. . .

(Mention specific requests)

St. Therese, help me to always believe
as you did in God's great love for me,
so that I might imitate your "Little Way" each day.

Amen.

Well I told you I would share one of my favorite male Saints. I have a few Saints I pray to frequently.Of course my prayers are said to our heavenly father first. Now I shared a very little bit about St. Therese of Lisieux. Today on the EWTN network had a movie on about the life of St. Therese of Lisieux, whch I enjoyed very much. I digress, so lets move on to my first male Saint. Let me just add one more thing about my favorite saints. There are 100's of Saints,as a Catholic we all have our favorites for one reason or another, and each one is for personal reasons. I have 5 Saints whose prayers I say regularly. In later entries I will explain about Prayers, Novenas, The Rosary and more. As for this time I want to share one of my favorite male Saints. It's St. Michael the Archangel. Here is his prayer.

PRAYER TO
SAINT MICHAEL
THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..

O glorious prince St. Michael,
chief and commander of the heavenly hosts,
guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits,
servant in the house of the Divine King
and our admirable conductor,
 you who shine with excellence
and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil
, who turn to you with confidence

Amen.

In light of today's Scripture readings, Fr. Bob's Prayer is: (from littleflower.org)
Lord Jesus, you look into my eyes and ask the same questions you ask Peter. "Yes, I love you!" Even though I've denied you in my life sometimes, and acted against your teachings, I really want to love you, Jesus. I'm doing the best I know how. You know my weakness. Thank you for understanding and still trusting and empowering me to create your reign and nurture others. Teach me to follow where you call and send me today. Like Paul and Peter, I hear the echoes of the pain and price involved in following you and loving you with passion and conviction. I never want to hurt or disappoint you again, Jesus. Help me to follow you with wholehearted love and conviction!

Pain lifted up to Thee, is pain no more: Joy casts aside the weeds that sorrow wore.
St. Therese

5/24/12
St Therese, your love for Jesus led you to try to do every little thing well. By being hidden, small, and totally opento what God wanted, you became a powerful Saint.
Teach me to live your way of love too. Help me to treat everyone kindly, to be patient, to pray for people who are away from God, and to accept things that are hard or make me suffer. Let me follow this way withdetermination and cheerfulness. Then someday I will be with you in our Father's home. Amen

Help me, O my God, and I will not fear, how much soever I may be oppressed.

God our Father,
We thank You for the gift
Even before You raised Christ Your Son
You already planted in our heart and soul
The spirit of Your Son Jesus Christ
by raising Christ your Son
Not to prove that You can conquer the power of death
But to make us realize that
the Christ has always been in our heart
and opened for us the way to eternal life.

Today we celebrate this gift
Today we celebrate that we can accomplish more
because His spirit is within us
Today we celebrate that we can be strong for
all the challenges that we have encountered.
Today we celebrate that we can be happy
and nothing to be afraid of.
Today we celebrate that we are always safe
since the Christ is within us to protect us all the time
Today we celebrate that we have hope
for all the people in the world
Today we celebrate the renewal of our lives
by His Spirit within us
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

I'll torment God so much that, if He wanted to refuse me at first, my importunity will force Him to grant my desires. This story is in the gospel.---St. Thérèse

  1. St. Therese is one of my favorite saints. I was able to visit her beautiful home in Lisieux, and see where she lay in bed for some time when she got sick, and saw Mama Mary smile. It is amazing how a young, delicate girl can be so strong in her faith.
